Womens FellowshipWomen's Fellowship meets weekly at 3pm on the church premises and at the present time we have 21 very friendly ladies who would welcome any others who would like to join them. The meeting consists of hymns which the ladies take turns in choosing themselves; prayers at beginning and end, a reading from the bible and a short talk from and invited speaker. No one speaks longer than 20 minutes. (the maximum) and we are very fortunate to have both ladies and gentlemen who always seem to give us a very interesting and worthwhile message. Sometimes we have a soloist; occasionally we have a group who come to sing and take the programme which makes a change. The collection we take weekly is allocated for either Church funds, our own funds, or the charity we support. We hold a ballot every year to decide on which charity but we nearly always manage to send £350-£400 at the end of the year to the one chosen. Occasionally we have DIY meetings, usually at the end of the two sessions during the year when we all have the opportunity to take part in the programme and they are always enjoyable. For the last few years, we have been invited to a Garden Party by one of our ladies and her husband during the summer break, and we enjoy the fellowship and refreshments very much. We also usually have a lunch in August and partake of a lovely meal, thanks to one of the lady Elders in the church, and her helpers. This is followed by entertainment, always enjoyed. Our meeting means a lot to each one of the ladies so why not come along to meet us and see if you will feel the same way once you get to know us! By the way, I lead the meeting and have done for the past ten years, Lal Beaumont.
